One of the most advanced thermal fabrics available, Polartec® Alpha® Direct is designed to regulate comfort in changeable conditions, making it the perfect insulating layer for cycling when temperatures can vary a lot over the course of a ride, depending on weather conditions or if you're pushing the pace.
Alpha® Direct is a new evolution from Polartec® of original Alpha technology. It removes the need for an extra layer of fabric on the inside, which damages breathability. By refining the shape and size of the lofted fibres, Alpha® Direct can sit directly next to other layers of fabric, improving breathability and comfort, whilst also reducing the overall weight of the gilet.

It's not all about insulation. A windproof outer layer, with a DWR water repellent treatment, is there to block the weather before it reaches your core. Underarm mesh stretch panels are there to ensure a great fit, and allow more heat build-up to escape. There's a full-length YKK Zip for unzipping during tough efforts.
Finishing touches
Good gilets have usable pockets. The Aeron Polartec Alpha Gilet has 4: three large cargo pockets, and a zipped one for valuables.
Reflective details are also a must. dhb have included a central rear reflective, along with a rear strip across the top of the pockets and a reflective dhb logo on the front of the gilet. Subtle touches to help you be seen out on the road.
